Herb Society of Wake County
The Herb Society of Wake County (NC) usually meets the last Thursday of each month (except November or December) at 7 p.m. at the Commons Building or Agricultural Services Building, Wake County Office Park, Carya Drive (off Poole Road, just east of the Beltline). We welcome all those with an interest in growing and using herbs. (Please check the event page for meeting location each month.)
Ongoing activities of the society include sharing seeds, plants, and catalogs; craft workshops; herbal refreshments; planting, maintaining, and harvesting herbs at our herb garden at Historic Oak View County Park; field trips to herb gardens and commercial herb farms; and our newsletter.
Besides our monthly meetings, herb society members participate in other events, such as the Raleigh Home and Garden Show, the State Fair, Heritage Day at Historic Oak View County Park, and Herb Days at the State Farmers Market.
The Herb Society of Wake County works in association with the Wake County Cooperative Extension Service and is a member of the North Carolina Herb Association. Our goal is to promote the use of herbs through education, demonstration, and experience.
